Did you know that the Bible tells you exactly how to make sure you go to Heaven? I didn’t make this stuff up—it’s coming straight from the source, from the Word of God Himself!
The Bible is full of infinite wisdom, but it can be confusing and daunting, especially for modern readers. So I want to show you this shortcut to Heaven. This blew my mind, how easy it is to understand once someone points it out to you.
It’s called the “Romans Road” because all the verses are found in the book of Romans. These four verses explain the four key truths about how to get into Heaven.
- Everyone is a sinner. Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
- Jesus died and paid for our sin. Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
- There is a terrible price to pay for sin if you are not saved. Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
- We can receive Jesus as our Savior and accept the free gift of eternal life. Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
It really is that simple! Once you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, he pays for all your sin—past, present, and future—and secures your place in Heaven.
If you haven’t asked Jesus to be your Savior, you can do so today. After you are saved, you can use The Romans Road as an easy way to share the Gospel with others. Here is an example prayer—feel free to use this exact wording or let it inspire your own prayer.
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and that the wages of sin is death. But I don’t want to go to hell. The Bible says that if I accept You, You will accept me as I am. Right now, I receive You as my Savior. Please take me to Heaven when I die. I accept the free gift of eternal life.
In the precious name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.
Here is a video tract I made for my church, also based on the Romans Road to salvation:
