The Pilgrim’s Quest

From the author of In the Similitude of a Dream, The Peace of God, This is Not a Poetry Book, and Born Again comes a debut novel using dark imagery, epic storytelling, and biblical truths to bring a Light against Legion. And it all begins with a terrifying question:

What if losing everything was only the beginning of the battle?

Elias Ashbourne had a home. He had a wife. Children. A name. A place in the world. Then, in a single night, it was all taken from him.

Now Elias walks alone through a kingdom slowly being consumed by darkness. Behind him lie the smoldering ruins of the life he once knew. Ahead lies a road haunted by monsters, restless spirits, and things that should have remained in the grave.

But the creatures stalking Elias are more than beasts. They are manifestations of the sins that haunt every human heart: deception, pride, wrath, greed, lust, shame, and despair. And somewhere beyond the wilderness waits an ancient necromancer who has spent centuries learning how to turn mankind’s darkest weaknesses against them.

Elias wants answers.

Why would a good God allow such suffering? Why was his family taken from him? Who is he now that everything that once defined him is gone?

His journey will lead him through ruined kingdoms, cursed forests, haunted battlefields, and a realm where the dead refuse to stay dead. Along the way, he will encounter unlikely companions: a grieving widow whose faith survived unimaginable loss, a disgraced knight seeking redemption, a strange child who possesses an unshakable trust in God, and a mysterious Watchman who seems to know far more about Elias’s journey than he should.

And one by one, Elias will discover six ancient pieces of spiritual armor: the armor of God. But the armor does not come without a price. To wear it, Elias must confront the darkness within himself. Because the greatest enemy he will face isn’t waiting for him in a haunted forest or a necromancer’s castle. It has been following him all along.

The Old Man.

An ancient enemy who knows every fear, every failure, every temptation… and every seemingly unanswered prayer.

As Elias approaches the heart of the darkness, he must decide whether faith is possible without answers, whether righteousness can survive suffering, and whether a man can discover who he truly is after everything he thought he was has been stripped away.

Because sometimes God doesn’t remove the darkness. Sometimes He teaches us how to walk through it.

The Pilgrim’s Quest is a Christian dark fantasy novel about spiritual warfare, survival, and redemption—a pilgrimage into the shadows where monsters embody mankind’s deepest sins and the greatest battle is for the soul.
