Welcome to Part 6 of my 10-part blog series What Is Salvation? You have questions about salvation; the Bible has the answers.
How do we know the Bible is right? (Or: “What makes Christianity more true than all the other options out there?”) Hint: The truth isn’t always popular, but it’s still true.
It’s a fair question. After all, the world is packed with spiritual voices: religions, philosophies, podcasts, YouTubers, and even your cousin who once read half a book on Eastern mysticism.
So why should we believe the Bible? Why trust its path to salvation and not the thousands of others?
I personally struggled with this question for a long time, partly because of how Christianity and spirituality in general have been misrepresented by TV, movies, parapsychology, and even certain churches and denominations.
But when I finally took the time to study what the Bible actually says, I discovered that it’s the only way backed by truth, proven by history, and confirmed by the One who conquered death.
Let’s look at it in the Light.
📖 The Bible Is More Than an Ancient Book
It’s not just a religious handbook or a moral manual. This is God’s Word, and it says so unapologetically.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God…” – 2 Timothy 3:16a (KJV)
“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” – Psalm 12:6 (KJV)
This Book does more than claim divine authorship. It proves it, through fulfilled prophecy, historical accuracy, internal consistency (it was written by more than 40 authors over 1,500 years with zero contradictions), and supernatural preservation (through the guidance of the Holy Spirit).
While philosophies shift with the wind, the Bible hasn’t changed. A King James Bible has the same messages from God as it did when it was first printed in the English Language in 1611. It’s the same truth then, now, and forever.
➡️ Jesus Himself Claimed the Bible’s Authority
Jesus didn’t treat Scripture like a suggestion box. He quoted it, lived by it, and said it couldn’t be broken:
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” – John 17:17 (KJV)
Not “a truth.” The truth.
And what did He say about the path to Heaven?
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6 (KJV)
Notice the wording. He didn’t say, “I am a way.” He said, “the way.” Singular. Exclusive. Clear.
🚪 No, There Aren’t Many Paths to God; There is One Door
It might sound harsh in today’s “believe whatever you want” culture, but the Bible draws a hard line:
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12 (KJV)
That name is Jesus. Not Buddha. Not Muhammad. Not your best intentions or good vibes. It’s Jesus and Jesus alone.
If multiple paths could lead to God, then Christ’s death on the cross was unnecessary, not to mention extremely cruel. God would not have sent His only begotten Son to die for no reason. But Jesus died on the cross because there was no other way.
🔍 What About Other Religions?
Let’s be honest. Almost every religion teaches some version of “do more, be better, try harder.” It’s all about human effort.
The Bible flips that script completely.
It says: You can’t earn it. You’ll never be good enough. But Jesus already was. And He offers salvation as a free gift.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith… it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)
Other religions say “do.” The Bible says “done.”
That’s not just different; that’s eternally different.
🧠 But Can’t Truth Be Relative?
Nope.
Truth is not ice cream. You don’t get to pick your favorite flavor. It either is or it isn’t. If 2 + 2 = 4, then it doesn’t also equal 5 for someone who “feels” differently.
And when it comes to eternity, you don’t want to be mostly right. You need to be 100% certain about what you believe in. The state of your eternal soul depends on it.
🗣️ Let’s Recap in One Sentence
You can be sure the Bible’s way is the right way because it is God’s Word, proven true, confirmed by Jesus, and the only path that leads to salvation, not by works but by grace.
🧭 This Isn’t About Being Narrow-Minded but Eternally Secure
God isn’t trying to confuse you with a maze of options. He gave us one clear way, and it’s open to everyone.
“Whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16b (KJV)
You don’t need to guess. You don’t need to hope you picked right.
You just need to trust the One who already did everything for you.
